Theological Education by Extension
Since Jan 2008, twelve students met each month near Umzimkulu, a rural township in southern KwaZulu-Natal. This was the birth of South Coast Bible Schools newly developed Primary Level. This on-site training model has continued for four years now, with a second set of graduates completing three-years of basic training this November.

Course material is extracted from our SCBS curriculum, so learners are able to continue their studies at the Bible School without compatibility issues. Since literacy is typically not high, care is taken to teach at an appropriate level. Like SCBS, all lectures are translated into the vernacular – either isiXhosa or isiZulu.
We look forward to celebrating with our second group of graduates at our annual graduation ceremony at Silver Oaks in November this year, where they will receive recognition for their efforts. We also hope to introduce a new contextual and practical curriculum in 2012.
