South Coast Bible School was established over a decade ago by Rev Dr Ronald Wesson, an evangelist ministering in southern KwaZulu-Natal and Pondoland in the former Transkei, and SIM Canada missionaries Keith and Cindy Frew. The purpose of the school was to provide training for church leaders who responded to the gospel during Dr Wesson’s tent crusades.

SCBS hosts approximately 30 learners for five days every quarter, Monday to Friday. Men and women sleep in separate dormitories during the week of study. We have found that the rhythm of work, study and worship together facilitates a meaningful learning experience. The part-time training model suits learners who cannot afford more time away from their various communities, and works very well in Africa.
